Help to positively impact your student’s future
Gifted/Talented programming positively influences students’ futures. As parents/guardians and members of the community, you play an essential role in the lives of your children. Gifted/Talented services are available to students and provide an opportunity to have their academic and affective needs met in manners that are appropriate to achieving meaningful success in schools.
Our resources and tools will help you support your child and promote their need and support in providing access for specialized Gifted/Talented services in the academic setting in a manner that validates the mosaic of experiences/culture that exist in our state due to the culturally, linguistically, and economically diverse (CLED) students that often go underrepresented in G/T services.
Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students
The Texas Education Agency outlines equitable practices in their Texas State Plan for Education of Gifted/Talented Students. As per the state guidance, equity exists when the various population groups are closely reflected in the same proportions in Gifted/Talented programs as they are represented in the larger population. Equity exists when all learners who have participated in services for gifted/talented learners will yield products and performances of professional quality as part of their program services.
